Facts and legends of the Carisolo community
The project aims to promote an understanding of the local area by recounting its stories and legends.
The legend of Charlemagne’s passage is the best known, but there are many others that are less well known, such as the story of the former Bohemian glassworks, the ancient chestnut grove, the knife grinders and emigration.
We have conceived the exhibition as a montage of existing and newly created short films, which are screened on a loop on Plexiglas screens positioned in the centre of the room. The stories told through images refer to other material usually displayed on the display table or on vertical panels along the perimeter walls.
The exhibition continues beyond the exhibition hall, offering visitors the chance to visit the locations featured in the stories. The Carisolo Family Trek is a trail designed to showcase the local area, aimed at families. It starts at the ‘La Guil’ hall and leads to the main points of interest, such as the Church of St Stephen, the chestnut grove, the glassworks, as well as the former airport and Minighina’s house.
